Aliza Becker is the Coordinator of Community Outreach and Support at JCFS Chicago and Associate Fellow at the Hannah Arendt Center of Bard College. Aliza spent over two decades as an adult educator and advocate for immigrant rights. She was the founding director of Brit Tzedek v’Shalom, a national Jewish peace organization, and in 2013 launched the American Jewish Peace Archive, an oral history project documenting 50 years of American Jewish involvement in Israeli-Palestinian peace activism. In 2019, Aliza became the co-founder and director of Meanings of October 27th.
Carly Rubin is an audio producer based in Brooklyn, New York. She joined the October 27th podcast project in 2023 and produced and edited all of the episodes. When she’s not working with Aliza and Noah, she’s working at NPR. Carly is originally from Milwaukee and was deeply impacted and shaped by the Wisconsin Jewish community.
Noah Schoen is an antisemitism educator, community organizer, and oral historian. He is the Manager of Community Engagement at the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh (a program of Tree of Life), where he works to dismantle antisemitism and the injustices of today. He is the co-founder of Meanings of October 27th, an oral history project about the 2018 synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh. A ‘17-’18 JOIN for Justice Fellow and a two-time course instructor for the “Don’t Kvetch, Organize” online class, Noah has been organizing in Jewish communities and the labor movement for over 10 years.
